"La vida de cualquier animal es más valiosa que la de aquel hombre que es capaz de torturarlo."

El tema que he escogido para hablar en este post es el maltrato animal, para que la gente leyendo esto pueda reflexionar sobre ello, primero daré información del tema y al final mi opinión.

El maltrato animal comprende comportamientos que causan dolor innecesario o estrés al animal. Los mismos van desde la negligencia en los cuidados básicos hasta el asesinato malicioso. Existen dos tipos de crueldad animal, el maltrato directo, que consta de la falta intencional en proporcionar los cuidados básicos, la tortura, la mutilación o el asesinato de un animal, y el maltrato indirecto. Este abuso innecesario se ha convertido en un problema social de gran dimensión. El abuso animal es apenas un eslabón de una cadena de abuso que lastima a todo el mundo, tanto a los animales como a las personas. Los niños que lastiman a los animales pueden llegar a ser adultos que lastimen a los niños o a otros adultos.

Animal abuse includes behaviors that cause unnecessary pain or distress to the animal. They range from basic care neglect to malicious killing. There are two types of animal cruelty, direct abuse, consisting of the intentional failure to provide basic care, torture, mutilation or killing of an animal, and indirect abuse. This unnecessary abuse has become a social problem of great dimension. Animal abuse is just one link in a chain of abuse that hurts everyone, both animals and people. Children who hurt animals may become adults who hurt children or other adults.

• EJEMPLOS DE MALTRATO ANIMAL.

• El abandono de los animales

• Mantenerlos en instalaciones indebidas desde el punto de vista higiénico-sanitario o inadecuadas para la práctica de los cuidados y la atención necesarios de acuerdo con sus necesidades etnológicas, según raza y especie.

• Practicarles mutilación, excepto las controladas por los veterinarios en caso de necesidad, o por exigencia funcional.

• No facilitarles la alimentación necesaria para su normal desarrollo.

• Venderlos a laboratorios o clínicas sin el cumplimiento de las garantías previstas en la normativa vigente.

• Ejercer su venta ambulante.

• Suministrarles alimentos que contengan sustancias que puedan causarles sufrimientos o daños innecesarios.

• Golpearlos brutalmente para causar un daño psicológico en otra persona.

Algunos tipos de maltrato a los animales domésticos son:

• Dejar a la mascota a la intemperie (padeciendo de frío, sol y lluvia)

• Dejarla sin alimento (olvidarse de darles al menos una vez al día de comer)

• Dejarla sin agua (no verificar al menos una vez al día si tiene agua fresca y limpia)

• Descuido, sea de su salud (cuando enferma o no llevarla(o) a vacunar),de su bienestar (no hacerle caso alguno) o de su entorno (no bañarla(o), no limpiar el lugar donde come o habita). Aquí se incluye también el abandono.

 El abandono se puede considerar como un maltrato si consideramos que en la calle, rutas, terrenos baldíos y/o encerrados, los animales no pueden proveerse por sí mismos de comida, agua, abrigo y protección de su salud. Abandonados, sin asistencia alguna, los animales están expuestos a toda especie de agresión y violencia, como envenenamientos, golpes y muerte.

La relación humano-animal es milenaria, y son los perros quienes han brindado al hombre innumerables e invaluables beneficios físicos y psicológicos; sin embargo, lejos de retribuirles de la misma forma, se les ha tratado como objetos de consumo, los cuales suelen convertirse (la mayoría de las veces) en una moda o molestia, que bajo circunstancias como falta de capacidad económica, cambios de residencia, aparición de alergias, compra compulsiva o incompatibilidad, se pueden adquirir y desechar a placer, olvidando que se trata de un ser vivo y que muchas de estas situaciones son relativamente sencillas de solucionar.

Esta situación atiende principalmente al antropocentrismo con en que hemos manejado la relación con la naturaleza en general, mismo que ocasiona que veamos a los individuos de otras especies como recursos de explotación sin tomar en cuenta su bienestar, sus necesidades y su derecho a la vida.

La mayoría de los animales abandonados en España son recogidos por protectoras de animales o ayuntamientos. Entre estos animales el abandono se produce más entre perros (76%) y gatos (24%) en mayor medida que otros tipos de animales.

Most abandoned animals in Spain are picked up by animal shelters or municipalities. These animals abandonment occurs more among dogs (76%) and cats ( 24 % ) greater extent than other animals .

El perfil estándar de animales abandonados tiene las siguientes características:

• Una minoría de los animales recogidos tiene chip de identificación.

Mi opinión sobre esto, es que la gente que maltrata a un animal son personas crueles, violentas y sin sensibilidad ninguna. Hay gente que lo hace por diversión y es algo que no soporto, ya que no le encuentro la diversión por ningún lado, porque se supone que nosotros somos los racionales sin embargo hay animales que son más racionales que muchas personas.

Pienso que la gente que mata animales, torturándolos y de mil maneras debería ir a la cárcel porque es un asesinato, y yo lo veo así.

El otro día viendo la televisión me "alegre", lo pongo entre comillas porque se trataba de una noticia sobre maltrato animal, pero con la novedad de que la persona que había maltratado a perros, podría tener 2 años de cárcel. 

My opinion about this is that people who mistreats an animal is cruel, violent people without any sensitivity. There are people who do it for fun and it's something I can not stand because it will not find fun anywhere, because it assumes that we are rational animals however there are more rational than many people.

I think people who kill animals, torturing and thousand ways should go to jail because it is a murder, and I see it.

The other day watching television me "baby", I put it in quotes because it was a story about animal abuse, but with the news that the person who had mistreated dogs, could have 2 years in prison.
